LIMA - Michael John Krepak passed away peacefully at his home on October 15, 2025, at 12:09 am surrounded by his wife and daughter. He was 77 years old.
Michael was born February 28, 1948, in Shreveport, Louisiana to John C "Chuck" and Marjorie E (Sanford) Krepak who preceded him death. On December 21, 1996, he married Mary (Leach) Turnage who survives in Shreveport. Michael was a retiree of Ford Motor Company Lima Engine Plant, where he gave over 37 years of dedicated service.
He enjoyed cooking, hunting, fishing, playing golf and traveling to Louisiana to spend time with his wife and family. As a child, he spent countless days fishing on Caddo Lake in Mooringsport, LA with his family, memories he cherished. As an adult, he bought a pontoon boat in order to make those same memories with his own family, swimming, tubing and fishing on Cross Lake in Shreveport. Each season ended with a big fish fry to celebrate their time together; moments he fondly reminisced about
throughout his life.
His hunting days were also a special part of Michael's life and a bond he shared with his brother, Jonathan, in their younger years. Their time together in duck blinds and outdoors were memories
Michael held close.
In retirement, golf became his greatest passion; he watched it, played in leagues, studied up on it, and even devoted an entire room to his growing collection of clubs. His golf buddies and time on the course
brought him much joy.
Michael had a soft spot for animals, a love he passed down to his daughter and granddaughter. He especially loved cats. He not only spoiled his own (Gigi, Priscilla, Buster, Sammy and Lulu), but also cared for the neighborhood strays, making sure they were warm and fed by their "Paw Paw", as he called himself.
He was a private man who kept his circle small, but if you were lucky enough to be in that circle, he loved and protected you fiercely. He was deeply sensitive and carried a quiet empathy for those around him. The intensity of which he loved was truly remarkable. He was endlessly proud of his granddaughter Carlie and often told her he loved her "more than chocolate cake with sprinkles on it", a special sentiment between them.
Michael is survived by his wife, Mary F. Krepak of Shreveport LA; daughter Stephanie (Joey) Cox of Lima, OH; granddaughter Carlie Cox of Lima, OH; son Matthew "Matt" Silas and family; wife Lori and daughters, Sara and Chloe of Jonesboro, AR; brother Jonathan (Debbie) Krepak of Bossier City, LA; niece Tiffany Blaine of Mooringsport, LA; nephew Gary Krepak of Bossier City, LA; great- niece Paisley Blaine of Mooringsport, LA; great- nephews, Alex and Zach Krepak of Bossier City, LA; and his beloved cat, Sammy.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lisa, Mary, and the staff at Primrose Retirement Community of Lima for their compassion and the wonderful care Michael received while he was a resident. They also wish to thank his Cornerstone Caregiving aides, Joyce and Shari for caring for Michael as they would their own father, and Bridge Hospice for providing such dignity and kindness during his final days and beyond.
A private service will be held in Louisiana with family at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Happy Tails Pup Partners by emailing [email protected]. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanth.com

Im sending all of you a ton of prayers and tons of love. At first I wasnt sure how long I was going to be a part of his journey. He was a tough cookie in the begining, but he finally softened up. I am extremely happy I got to be one of the chosen ones to see him through his journey. Thank you for allowing me to. I will be praying for you all!!!
