MILDRED TURNER
WAPAKONETA — Mildred 'Mid' Turner, 86, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at 4:45 a.m., at Wapakoneta Gardens after a long illness, surrounded by family.
Mid was born on January 27, 1930, in Allen County, Ohio to the late Harry and Viola (Lotz) Dulebohn. On September 10, 1950, she , married her high school sweetheart, Ronald E. Turner, at the Fletcher Chapel Methodist Church in Holden, Ohio. He preceded her in death on Friday, November 17, 1989.
Mid was the owner/operator of Turner Upholstery Shop and worked previously at Wahle's Upholstery in Lima and in the cafeteria at Lima Memorial Hospital.
Ronald and Mid worked together on their family farm raising their children. Mid was a member of Fletcher Chapel United Methodist Church in Holden.
Mid is survived by four children: Steve (Jean) Turner, Waynesfield; Craig (Jackie) Turner, Harrod; Terry (Lori) Turner, Waynesfield; and Ronette (Paul) Kill, St. Marys. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Cassie (Shawn) Anderson, Kevin (Amy) Turner, Jessie (Charles) Schulze, Diana (Greg) Varno, Angie (Jason) Glaser, Heath (Amy) Turner, Matt (Sharon) Kill, Krystle Turner and Mitch Oen. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Brooke, Caleb, Emily, Toby, Hannah, Carter, Liberty, Lincoln, Kaylee, Tessa, Kia, Abby, Lauren, Shaelynn, Trevor, Andre and Dorian. Mid's family was the center of her world.
She is also survived by brothers Bill (Diana), Harry (Jewel), Jim (Bev) and Bob Dulebohn and sister Linda (Lloyd) Painter. Brother-in-law Harold Newland, and sister-in-laws Carol Jean Turner Overholser, Carol Riff and Linda Turner and many, many nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by a son, Rick Turner, sisters Bettye Chiles, Dorothy Newland, Ann Miller, Brother Gene 'Bud' Dulebohn, sister-in-laws Louise Dulebohn and Diane Dulebohn, brother-in-laws Joe Chiles, Lyman Turner, Bob 'Hank' Riff, Lee Turner and Dale Turner, nieces Bettye Jo Beers, Deb Boday and a great nephew Brian Turner. She was also preceded in death by her long time companion of 26 years, Richard Premo.
Mid graduated from Waynesfield Goshen High School in 1948. She was 10 year 4-H advisor and helped to establish the Waynesfield All Around Cattle 4-H Club with Ronald in 1972. She also was an advisor with the Waynesfield Farmerettes. She taught many of her family members and 4-Hers to love the art of sewing. She upholstered many of the community's couches and chairs, and was the 'go to' person when someone got 'stuck' with their sewing. She enjoyed being a part of the Waynesfield Senior Citizens.
Funeral services to celebrate Mid's life will be held on Friday, February 19 at 10:30 a.m., at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville with Rev. Don Smith officiating. Burial to follow in the Willow Branch Cemetery, Waynesfield.
The family will receive family and friends from 2 to 8 Thursday, February 18 and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Waynesfield Community Development Fund or The American Cancer Society.
