ALGER -- Patricia K. Oglesbee, age 85 of Alger, passed away at her residence Sunday, June 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 12, 1939, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to the late Harry and Luella (Buss) Sellin. She married Wayne "Tuck" Oglesbee on July 29, 1960, and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2013 after 52 years of marriage.
Patricia was a graduate of Kenton High School, class of 1957. She was a homemaker for many years then became an entrepreneur and business owner, managing Books N Things in Kenton with her sister, Barbara, for over 7 years. She later worked as a medical transportation coordinator for Hardin County Council on Aging. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, was a member of Kenton Chapter 863 Women of the Moose, a life member of the AmVets Post 1998 in Wisconsin, member of the Red Hatters in Kenton, and a member of the Mary Lou Johnson Library Book Club. Patricia was an avid lifetime reader, she enjoyed puzzles, mystery books, and watching classic movies. She was talented in painting and woodburning. She loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memory include sons: Dwight Oglesbee of Dayton; Steve (Tina) Oglesbee of Kenton; Keith (Jill) Oglesbee of Fernley, Nevada; David (Marlee) Oglesbee of Alger; sister: Barabara Long of Kenton; grandchildren: Nicole, Jenelle, Corey (Maegan), Austin (Brittanie), Aaron (Sarah), Luke (Rachel), Preston (Katherine), all Oglesbee's, Petra (David) Dearnaley, Dustin (Stephanie) Dysert, Chris (Deidra) Parker, Mark (Meggin) Parker, Catelyn (Jason) Burnside; 27 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers-in-law: Jim Long, Waldo (Ann) Oglesbee, and Everett (Norma) Hinton; niece: Terri Risch; nephew: Robert Koch.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home, Kenton, with Reverend Ken Engdahl officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior from 10-11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Norman Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 40 Washington Blvd., Kenton, or to The Red Cross in Patricia's honor.
