LIMA - Paul H. Eley Jr., 82, passed away at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center on April 12, 2025, following a brief illness, with family at his bedside.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Martha (Mooney) Eley; granddaughter, Tristan Eley; and sister-in-law, Candyce (Miller) Moreland.
Paul is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sherri (Miller) Eley; a sister, Karen (David) O'Grady of Raleigh, NC; a brother, Jim (Sheila) Eley of Lima; and four children: Matthew (Crista) Eley of Lima, Jenifer Eley Ashby of Lima, Jeffrey (Margo) Eley of Lima, and Melanie (Dirk) Morris of Ooltewah, TN. Paul was blessed with three beautiful granddaughters who adored him: Sydney (Cody) Lundy of South Pasadena, FL, Madison Morris and Alison Morris of Ooltewah, TN.
Paul worked for 41 years as a journeyman electrician with the IBEW local 32, and served as the business agent for 4 years, before his retirement in 1998. Paul was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church. Paul was a gift to others, and an inspiration to family and friends and will be missed every day.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerard Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at St. Gerard Church, Lima, Ohio. The funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m. Father Mike Sergi will officiate. Entombment will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery.
