SPENCERVILLE -- Paul E. Lee, a lifelong resident of Spencerville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in Columbus, surrounded by his family. A proud member of his community, Paul dedicated his life to service - both to his country and to his hometown. He was a retired long-time employee of Ohio Decorative Products in Spencerville.
He proudly served in the United States Army before returning home to continue his lifelong commitment to public service as a member of the Spencerville Invincible Fire Company. Over the course of more than 50 years, Paul served the department with honor and distinction, including 35 years as Fire Chief. His leadership, dedication, and compassion left a lasting impact on countless lives and helped shape the department into what it is today.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Thelma; beloved wife, Carolyn Lee; son, Paul "Bud" Lee; Stepson, Greg Leidy; great-granddaughter, Mackenzie; and several siblings.
He is survived by his son, Timothy (Shelly) Lee; grandchildren, Isaac Lee, Heather Jolliff, Megan (Dan) Perry, Harold Charles, and Matthew Kantner; great-grandsons, Josiah, Maximus, Korbin, McKinley, and Lykan; siblings, Larry Lee, Dennis Lee, Johnny Lee, and Dorothy Lee: and special friend, Sandy Decamp. He is also fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss his steady presence, humor, and dedication to family and community.
A lifelong servant and leader, Paul will be remembered not only for his decades of service but also for his kindness, humility, and unwavering love for his family and the town he called home.
There will be a visitation from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with the family breaking for dinner from 4-6, on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. His visitation will continue from 11:00-12:00 p.m. with the funeral starting at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the funeral home with pastor Andrew J. Atkins officiating, followed by Military Honors provided by the United States Army and local area veterans from the VFW Post #6772 and American Legion Post #191. Burial will take place at a later date at Spencerville Cemetery. Memories may be shared and viewed by visiting www.baylifffuneral.com. Thomas E. In honor of Paul, preferred memorial may be made to the Spencerville Invincible Fire Company.
