LIMA — Phyllis J. "Jeannie" Ellison, 81, passed away on September 12, 2017 at her residence, surrounded by her wonderful loving family.
Jeannie was born in Celina, Ohio on August 12,1936, the daughter of Dale and Daisy (Tester) Hines. Both parents preceded her in death. She was married to Dan Phillips and divorced. They remained close friends until her passing. On September 11,1982 she was married to Joe Ellison, who also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children: Vicki (Gary) Baker, Mike (Heather) Phillips, Randy Phillips, Patti (Randy Baucom) Eilerman, and "adopted daughter" Jennifer(Darrell) Johnson, and several grandchildren: Chrissy (Ryan) Roof, Jenny(Jimmy) Moses, Lindsey Phillips, Jarrod (Victoria) Phillips, Jurnie Phillips, and Justyce Johnson. Jeanni also had six great grandchildren: Macayla Phillips, Landon Moses, Ariana Moses, Lily Moses, Jack Moses, and Noah Moore. She is also survived by her beloved best friend, Pat Mel.
In addition to being a homemaker and wonderful mother, Jeannie had worked in management most of her adult life in local businesses, US Auto Glass, State of Ohio and retired from Marimor Industries. She was a kind, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. That love and adoration was returned to her several times over. August became the family celebration month, and she enjoyed all the August birthdays in her family. Her canine companion, Honey, was beside her through all her illness. She will be truly missed, and her family will always remember her with love and humor. Per Jeannie's wishes, there will be a private memorial service for family and friends on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum in Lima. Floral deliveries may be made to the Mausoleum only from 12:00 to 12:45pm. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice.
