LIMA -- Richard E. 'Dick' Crumrine age 97, of Lima passed away September 27, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 29, 1928 in Lima to the late Delbert Ray and Myrtle E. (McKercher) Crumrine. He was married to Joanne Lowry for 77 years and she survives in Lima.
Dick worked for the Ohio Power Company, Sohio/Vistron Chemical and then retired after 32 plus years from Sohio Lima Refinery as the maintenance superintendent. He belonged to the Sohio Quarter Century Club, where he had served as President, and he was also a member of the Lima Management Club. He was a member of the YMCA for over 30 years, the Eagles Lodge 370, a life member of VFW Post 8445 of Wapakoneta. He also served in the Army, 11th Airborne Division, 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment, in Japan. He was a member of the Air Stream Wally Byam Caravan Club International and the Good Sam Club.
Survivors include son: Phillip E. (Connie) Crumrine of Lima; daughters: Jackie K. (Doug Tungate) Litsey of Jupiter, FL and Jennifer J. (Brice McBride) Crumrine of Elida; 3 grandsons: Joseph (Rachel Hern) Gearing, Christopher (Janelle) Gearing and Chad R. (Katy) Crumrine; 2 granddaughters: Shannon D. Crumrine, Erica (Rick) Rostorfer; 4 great grandsons: Gage A. Crumrine, Landon Prince, Gavin Gearing and Jack Gearing; 5 great granddaughters: Trinity (Jacob Miller) Gearing, Kaitlyn Gearing, Hannah Prince, Mia Prince and Gracelyn Crumrine, and 2 great great granddaughters Penelope Crumrine and Veridian Crumrine; a sister-in-law Phyllis Brown of Elida and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son R. Dale Crumrine, a grandson Aaron Crumrine: 3 brothers: John E. Crumrine, Delbert L. Crumrine and Woodrow J. Crumrine and 2 sisters: Mildred L. Crumrine and Francis E. Biddinger.
The family will receive friends Thursday October 2 from 4 to 6 PM at
Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Military rites will be
observed at 6 followed by a funeral service with Chaplain Glory Geib
officiating.
