Richard Sherard Obituary
SPENCERVILLE -- Richard Lee "Dick" Sherard, Sr., 77, of Spencerville, passed away at 8:25 PM on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home.
He was born on March 18, 1947 in Lima to Katherine Sherard Carter, who preceded him in death. On July 7, 1966, he married Linda Kay Krites, who survives in Spencerville.
Dick worked for Culligan in delivery and service and retired after 42 years of service. He was great at softball and horseshoes. He also loved to hunt, fish and bowl. He loved his dog Barney.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife Linda Kay Sherard of Spencerville are his children Richard "Rick" (Shari) Sherard, Jr., Ronald Eugene (Christa) Sherard and Lora Lynn Sherard; his grandchildren Alicia Wilson, LaShonda Wilson, Ashley Wilson, Lindsay Sherard and Jake Lee Sherard; eight great-grandchildren and one on the way; his brother Mike (Deb) Sherard of Montezuma; his sister Mary Sherard of Lima.
He was preceded in death by his in-laws Ralph (Lillie) Krites; his grandson Ronald Tyler Sherard; his brothers Bernard "Jr." Sherard, Don Sherard I and Charlie Sherard; his sisters Betty Jo Sherard, Linda Anderson and Judy Helms; his step-father Elmer Carter.
Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Serivces, Shawnee Chapel, where the family will receive friends for 2 hours prior to the services from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Interment of his cremated remains will be in Fairmount Cemetery at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
