Send FlowersLIMA -- Robert Dean "Bob" Catlett Jr., age 72 of Lima, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, of natural causes.
Bob was born January 11, 1953, in Annapolis, MD, to Robert Dean Catlett Sr. and Grace "Marie" (Felter) Hartzog, who both preceded him in death.
Bob was a proud Marine Corps Veteran and served in Vietnam. He retired from the City of Lima Water Treatment Plant. Bob was an avid fisherman and made sure you knew about it.
He is survived by his children, Shannon R. (Billy Jr.) Thompson of Harrod, Bobbie J. (Kenny) Roberts of Harrod, and Robert Dean "Rob" Catlett III of Beaverdam; grandchildren, Billy (Synclaire) Thompson, Jonathon (Macy) Thompson, Cydney Roberts, Cooper (Riley) Roberts, Ava Catlett, and Camden Catlett; great-grandchildren, Liam and Lukis Thompson; longtime companion, Terrie L. Redman and her family and their dog Dinky of Lima; siblings, Tony Catlett of Lima, Rick (Daniella) Catlett of Germany, Noreen (Kurt) Curl of Lima, and Lowell (Ronda) Hartzog of Fort Wayne, IN; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepdad, Lowell Hartzog Sr., and brothers, Tim Catlett and Frank Hartzog.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Eastside Chapel. Pastor Terry Brock will officiate. The burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The United States Marines and the VFW #1275 will provide Military Honors.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the funeral home before the service.

Condolences to Bob´s family. I fondly remember our many discussions at the treatment plant that started with Cityworks and somehow always ended with a fish story! May he rest in peace.
