HINSDALE, IL -- Robert "Bob" Sheldon, age 77; of Hinsdale, IL and Naples, FL, passed away June 7, 2022, in Hinsdale, IL. Bob was born March 4, 1945. Bob spent most of his formative years in Lima, Ohio and most of his adult life in Columbus, Ohio. Beloved husband of 52 years to Lucy Sheldon, nee Wallpe; loving father of Jennifer (Tim) St. Onge and Kerri (Robert "Bob") Gollias; cherished grandfather of Lacey (Brandon) Griffin, Holly Jo, Meadow, Hunter, and Gianna Gollias, Maddie and Zach St. Onge; dear great-grandfather of Beau Griffin; dearest brother of Bill (Patti) Sheldon; cherished in-law and friend to many.
A true entrepreneur at heart, he made the decision to start his own personal hair care business. After leading the company through an exciting growth period for over 25 years, he successfully negotiated the sale of the business. Driven by a desire help others succeed, one of his proudest accomplishments is the extensive professional and leadership development initiatives put in place to bring out the best in people.
Bob's passion for giving back to the community has been a common thread throughout his adult life. After the sale of his business, he made several mission trips to Honduras and was instrumental in building a hospital and eye clinic in an underserved community with limited access to qualified medical care. In addition to this work, he also served as a Court Appointed Special Advisor to support abused and at-risk youth.
Bob lived a full and wonderful life. He will be deeply missed.
Funeral Mass, Saturday, June 11th at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 4773 Church Rd., Morris, IN 47033. Inurnment to follow at St. Anthony of Padua Cemetery.
