RODGER DOUGLASS
GORHAM, Maine — Raymond Rodger Douglass Jr., 73, died at 9:40 p.m. Oct. 5, 2014, at his residence.
He was born July 7, 1941, in Lima to Raymond Douglass (Ruth Lippincott) and Ruth McBeth (Paul Beery), who preceded him in death.
Mr. Douglass graduated in 1959 from Lima Senior High School. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy from Dec. 31, 1963, to Dec. 30, 1969. He then attended The Ohio State University at Lima. After leaving Lima, he managed many restaurants in Ohio, Florida, and then in Portland, Maine. He currently was working at the Portland, Maine, Airport. He enjoyed gardening, loved his rescued pets, collected fine wines and was a gourmet cook.
Survivors include three brothers, Richard (Diane) Douglass, of Lima, Gregory (Janine) Douglass, of Lima, and Thomas Beery, of Lima; several nieces, nephews and cousins; his partner, David Simpson, of Gorham, Maine; and many friends in the Portland, Maine, area.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Dolby and Dorr Funeral Chapel in Gorham, Maine.

My husband Curtis and I are so sad to hear this news today. We both worked with "Roger" for years at The Village Cafe and have never met a kinder, gentler man. Rest in peace dear friend. We will never forget you.
