ST. MARYS — Samuel J. Trogdlon, 72, of Saint Marys, died 3:21 P.M. Friday, March 19, 2021, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 26, 1948, in Wayne, West Virginia, the son of Lafe and Louary (Lemaster) Trogdlon.
He married Connie Lininger on January 4, 1969, and she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by his sons: Mike (Tracy) Trogdlon of Saint Marys; Fred (Nanette) Trogdlon of Saint Marys; by his grandchildren: Brogan Trogdlon; Kayla Trogdlon; Stoodt Trogdlon; Clayton Trogdlon; Conner Trogdlon; Spencer Trogdlon.
He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Jaycee; Bryson; Graysin; Maila; Sammie; Hally; Gavin; Charlie; Sutton. He is survived by his siblings: Willa Skeens of Saint Marys; James (Rhoda) Trogdlon of Saint Marys; Nancy (Dale) Salisbury of Saint Marys; Glenn (Jan) Trogdlon of Spencerville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Raymond Trogdlon; a brother-in-law, Ronald Skeens.
Sam attended school in Wayne, West Virginia. He retired from Omni Source, Saint Marys. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and carving wooden animals. He loved spending time with his family, and he was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Saint Marys.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 25, 2021, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Pastor Bev Hurlburt, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to Grace United Methodist Church. All visitors to the funeral home are required to wear a mask, in accordance with the mandate of the Ohio Department of Health.
