SHIRLEY DATOE-NUNGESTER
LIMA — Shirley J Datoe-Nungester, 86, passed away April 11, 2014, at 8 am, at Wyngate Assisted Living.
Shirley was born June 16, 1927, in Fort Wayne to Nolan and Muriel (Cox) Bowers, who preceded her in death. On January 22, 1955 she married Angelo J. Datoe who preceded her in death on January 13, 1990. She later married Richard L. Nungester on April 2, 1994, who preceded her in death on March 22, 2009.
Shirley was a member of Union Chapel Missionary Church. She was a member of the VFW, Eagles 370, The Moose, and the Elks. Shirley enjoyed traveling and going on bus tours. She enjoyed dancing and music. Shirley loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and she will be deeply missed.
Survivors include: 2 Daughters, Kerry (Greg) Rumbaugh of Lima, OH, Amy (Darin) Binkley of Springfield, OH, Granddaughter, Stephanie (Scott) Jordan, Granddaughter, Kayla Rumbaugh, Grandson, Kyle Rumbaugh, Grandson, Mitchell Binkley, Grandson, Caden Binkley, Grandson, Evan Binkley, Great-granddaughter, Chloe Jordan, Sister, Patricia (David) Laudick, Many Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Jacqueline Moore; and bothers Dick Bowers and Buddy Bowers.
Services will be held April 16 at 3 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Mark Bayliff to officiate the service. Burial will be in St. Matthews Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6to 8 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Shawnee Chapel.
Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
