LIMA — Ted W. Croft, age 75, was called into presence of the Lord at 8:40 am Thursday, August 31, 2017, at his home with his loving family by his side.
Ted was born January 19, 1942 to the late Clem and Margie (Miller) Croft. On August 24, 1961 he married Penny S. (Pierce) Croft who survives in Lima. They celebrated 56 years of marriage.
Ted was a 1961 graduate of Shawnee High School. He retired from Marathon Petroleum after 35 years. Ted attended Elida Immanuel United Methodist Church and was a member of the Mended Hearts Club. He never knew a stranger and many of his mornings were spent at breakfast with his buddies from cardiac rehab and his fellow retirees from Marathon.
He was blessed with three children Mark A. (Susan) Croft of Brownsburg, IN, Terry A. (Cindy) Croft of Cleveland, OH and Meredith A. (Curt) Moore of Lima, OH; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Mike) Harsch, Lauren (Evan) Shooltz, Cole Moore, Cameron Moore, and a great-granddaughter on the way.
Other survivors include brother, David (Gail) Croft; sisters, Rose Smith and Dixie Snowden; aunt, Mary Lou Carman; sister-in-law, Donna (Walt) Pierce and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by sister, Tina (Gerald) Bell; in-laws, Bill and Martha Pierce and brother-in-law, Jerry Snowden.
Services will begin at 11:00 am Monday, September 4, 2017 at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Pastor Bruce Tumblin will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 6:00 pm Sunday, September 3, 2017, at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL and one hour prior to the funeral on Monday.
The family wants to thank St. Rita's Hospital and St. Rita's Hospice for the wonderful care given to Ted over the last month.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Texas Flood Victims C/O the American Red Cross, 610 Collett St, Lima, Ohio 45805.
