LIMA -- Rev. Tom D. Wilson, 80, passed away at 11:14 p.m. on March 6, 2022, at his residence.
Tom was born on February 3, 1942 in Lima, Ohio, to Richard Woodrow and Marian Eleanor (Mawhorr) Wilson.
Tom was a graduate of Shawnee High School, class of 1960. He was a member of the Salvation Army. He had served as a minister with the Salvation Army, retiring after 30 years. He had received two citations for his work in New Rochelle, New York, and one citation from Congress. He volunteered at the Civic Center as well as the Board of Elections working the voting polls.
He is survived by his sisters: Sally Walker and Joyce Woods, sister-in-laws: Carole Wilson, Deb Wilson, and Mary Belle Wilson Dixon, and his pride and joy, his cat Kitty.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, David Loyal, Terry Lee (Ruby) Wilson, Richard Wilson, Sheila (Ferman) Hall, Stanley Wilson, and Steven Wilson, and brother-in-laws: Ken Walker and Sherm Woods.
The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. A funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the funeral home with Major Debbie Stacy officiating. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery, Westminster.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Toby and Michelle Watson and family, to Hospice, and to St. Rita's Hospital for all they have done.

So sorry to hear of Tom's passing. He will be missed by many. I went to school for 3 years with Tom and was in several classes with him. He was always friendly with everyone. Just an all around good guy. Please know we will praying for you all Joe and Lynn Hunt

I grew up with Tom and his family in The Salvation Army. He was a wonderful man and an inspiration in my life for many years. You are now home! Rest in peace.
