VIRGINIA POTTHOFF
CLOVERDALE — Virginia M. Potthoff, 95, of Cloverdale died 7:50 a.m. Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the Meadow of Kalida.
She was born January 12, 1921 in Kalida to the late George and Mary (Quinn) Schulte. On November 18, 1943 she married Edwin M. Potthoff while at Camp Murphy, Stuart, FL. He preceded her in death April 10, 2004.
Virginia was a member of the St. Barbara Catholic Church, Cloverdale and its Altar Rosary Society. Virginia retired from Sears in the 1990s. She was a member of the Cloverdale Garden Club. She loved her church, family and gardening and enjoyed fishing with her husband, and bowling.
Survivors include her 5 children: Carol (Edward) Mansfield of Lima, Marge (Mike) Kosch of Continental, Martin (Sue) Potthoff of Lima, Mark (Marilyn) Potthoff of Glandorf and John (Jill) Potthoff of Leipsic; a sister: Alice Britsch of Continental; a brother: Kenneth (Mildred) Schulte of Continental; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Virginia is preceded in death by a brother: Elmer Schulte; 2 sisters: Goldie Coressel and Mildred Hoersten; 3 brothers-in-law: Clayton Britsch, Maynard Coressel and Ike Hoersten; and a sister-in-law: Betty Schulte
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at St. Barbara Catholic Church with the Very Reverend Jerome Schetter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Barbara Cemetery, Cloverdale.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township and again Wednesday at Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. There will be a rosary service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Barbara Catholic Church.
