Dear Hawley Family
I am in shock. I just drove past there today April 18, 2022) and noticed a reality sign in his window. I thought, uh-oh. What's going on here? I called his number and heard it was changed and with unknown new number. Then I had a dreaded thought to look under obits. I thought, NO, surely not?! Bill was actually a cousin of mine through the Baldwin line on my moms side and via his fathers side. He had done A LOT of good for me through the years as I began having back issues after my high school years. At 51 now, he was always there, had a smile and an open door. I too share the love of music, as I play accordion, piano, organ and theatre organ. My heart goes out to all of you as , I sit here with tears in my eyes. There will never be another like him and, I am greatly saddened to learn about his passing. He was AWESOME! I thank him, for all he did for me. He will be hugely missed for sure. All my heartfelt love and, sincere condolences to all of you.

I am stunned, totally stunned! And sad. Besides being my chiropractor for more than 40 years he became a friend. Oh my goodness, the conversations we had! Myra, he shared your beautiful singing and his music with me. He made me some CDs and we'd talk about your voice and the songs. Sometimes if he didn't have anyone else waiting he'd play some of his music for me. You were both so talented. I had made him a collection of music but didn't get it to him before my daughter died (July of 2020) and it took me over a year to get the energy to get back to work on it. It was a collection of performances at live music venues within an easy driving distance, as well as some music I thought he'd like from some other places I went to. I was going to add the memorial video I had made for my daughter's funeral to the collection I was making for him. I just didn't get it done, thinking I had tons of time. He listened to me talk about her and my other two children as much as we shared our ideas on how to run/fix the world.
I trusted him with my neck and back and also my heartaches and triumphs. I had been waiting until I just couldn't wait any longer and was trying to make an appointment today, Tuesday. I've been laying low since Covid but finally decided I had to go and he was so careful there that I felt safe.
As I'm trying to think of something comforting to you and the whole family - I just remembered that my parents even went to him years ago. I guess that is as special as I can get, that so many people trusted him as their "Doc" and for you to be comforted by the fact that he helped so many of us for so many years. I'd love to tell some of the great conversations we had. He may have already mentioned some of them to you.
I'm so so sorry for your loss. Take care of yourself even when you feel like you don't have the energy to. I'm sure he'd want you to.
If there is any way you can get my email address from this funeral home's guest book, I'd love to know who he'd recommend as my new chiropractor. Maybe you could enlighten me. I think he said he would go to his nephew when he needed one. And I would love to tell you how much I enjoyed your music. I am still so stunned!

I cannot express how much he will be missed. I have been a patient since the early 80's, and just saw him before Christmas. We always chatted about many things, and threw in a laugh for good measure. I was supposed to have seen him last Tuesday. Now I know he had a more important appointment to keep...

So many memories of growing up and trips to Aunt Mid's to visit with Bill & Earnie. Fun playing in the pond with swimming and ice skating. Bill is another classmate gone too soon. He will be missed by many.

As a long time patient and friend this comes as a total shock to me. Dr. Hawley was the best chiropractor in the entire world! He wasn't just a doctor but also became your friend. He was intelligent, compassionate, and trustworthy. Thank you Dr. Hawley for the many years of fine care and removing my pain.
