CHINO VALLEY, AZ -- William 'Bill' Dale Lewis, 68, of Chino Valley, AZ passed away peacefully after an extended battle with cancer at his residence on May 26, 2022 with his loving wife, Marie, by his side. A native of Lima, OH, Bill was the son of Carl and Valeria Lewis and grew up surrounded by his brothers and sisters, extended family, and friends. Bill was a member of the Lima Senior High School's Class of 1973 and took pride in being a Spartan. Bill loved technology, engineering, and gadgets and could always be found tinkering on projects even after he retired from his position of over 30 years at Marimor School & Industries. Bill believed that his biggest accomplishment in life was the family that he loved and took care of. Bill met and married the love of his life, Marie, and they spent the last decade caring for one another, sharing in each others' hobbies, and traveling throughout the state of Arizona. Bill relished getting to talk about 'his boys' Benjamin, Joseph, and Aaron and celebrated all of their blessings and accomplishments. And, as a proud grandpa, Bill would often share stories about his grandchildren and all of the sports and 4-H activities they participated in. Bill never knew a stranger and everyone who had the joy of meeting and getting to know Bill found him to be a great listener and an even better friend. Bill is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Steven. Bill is survived by his wife Marie Lewis of Chino Valley, AZ; sons Benjamin (Catherine) Lewis of Orrville, OH, Joseph Lewis (Sara Julian) of Lima, OH, and Aaron (Rachael) Lewis of Lima, OH; grandchildren Dakota, Adrian, Julianna, and Christian Lewis of Lima, OH; siblings Gary Lewis of Lima, OH, Sharon McCormick of Lima, OH, Sandy Lewis (Butch Rosenfeld) of New York, NY, Debra Todd of Mansfield, OH, Pam Davis of Lima, OH, Barbara Sulkin of Lima, OH, Kathleen Simpson of Lima, OH, Cindy (Paul) Lehman of Lima, OH, Tina Lewis of Lima, OH, and Mary Lewis (Erika Clemans) of Lima, OH; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life potluck will be held on Saturday July 2, 2022 at Hermon Woodlands Metro Park East Shelter at 485 N Wapakoneta Rd in Lima, OH from 11:00AM - 3:00PM for those friends and family that wish to share memories and condolences with Bill's family members. Additionally, the family is asking for memorial tree donations to be made in Bill's memory for the Kaibab National Park, which was near and dear to Bill's heart, at www.alivingtribute.org.
