Edward J. Blair
MT. PULASKI - Edward J. Blair, 75, of Mt. Pulaski, IL, died at 7:39 A.M. Thursday March 29, 2012 in Pinellas Park, FL.
Mr. Blair was born on July 18, 1936 in Springfield, IL to Charles Lewis and Hortence Carter Blair. He married Carlene E. Barnes in 1957. He later married Sharyn Kent Reeder on February 25, 1984 in Mt. Pulaski. She survives in Mt. Pulaski.
Also surviving are six children, Mark Edward (Cindy) Blair of Springfield, Kathy (Rick) Davis of Mt. Pulaski, Karen (Glen) Griesheim of Mt. Pulaski, Karla (Greg) Griesheim of Elkhart, William Kent Reeder of Springfield and Libby (Doug) Cross of Clinton, fourteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother and three brothers.
He farmed north of Illiopolis for over forty years and was a member of Decatur Eagles Corps, Lincoln Elk's Lodge, American Trapshooters Association, Mt. Pulaski Masonic Lodge AF & AM, Mt. Pulaski York Rite, Valley of Springfield Scottish Rite and Ansar Shrine of Springfield.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Calvary Cemetery in Illiopolis, IL with Sister Phyllis Schenk officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mt. Pulaski with Masonic Services at 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request memorials made to the Mt. Pulaski EMS or the Logan County Humane Society.

I will never forget EJ's smile and always friendly personality. He was a great man that enjoyed life and those around him...He will be missed. I imagine he and Ed are discussing getting the crops in right now...

Sharyn, We extend our deepest sympathy to you at this time.
It was a very short time that we knew Ed, but no one could be any nicer to talk with. My last memories will be him in the golf cart and our talk together just after the first hospital stay.
