Ruth E. Lucas
ASHLAND, MO - Ruth E. Lucas, 87, of Ashland, Mo., passed away at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, in her home at Bluegrass Terrace.
Ruth was born Aug. 31, 1927, in Lincoln, Ill., daughter of Floyd and Eleanor Sutton Worth. In early childhood, Ruth's mother passed away and was raised by her stepmother, Pearl Worth. She was united in marriage to Eugene C. Lucas on June 28, 1947, in Springfield, Ill. He preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 2008.
Ruth is survived by her children: Lynnette (Randall) Yaeger of Ashland, Mo., Leslie Lucas and Deborah Kelly of Lincoln, Ill., and Charlotte Pisarek of Ashland, Mo.; her brother, Fred Worth of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother; son, Doug Lucas; grandchildren, Shawn Lucas and Michael Heyen; brother, Richard Worth; and sister, Devora Smith.
Ruth held many titles, including a housewife, an Avon Representative, and she assisted the cooks at the Elkhart grade school.
Services for Ruth will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Pulaski Cemetery in Mt. Pulaski.
