It is with deep sadness we announce the heavenly transition of Robin Dicks, age 60, of
Cincinnati, Ohio, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 27, 2024, in
Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born on Tuesday, November 19, 1963, in
Cincinnati, Ohio.
Robin was born to the late Shirley Virginia and William Richard Dicks, both of
Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the second of three children.
Robin accepted Christ and was baptized on July 12, 1970 under the pastorate of Jerome M. Lewis Sr. She sang in the Children's Choir, participated in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
Robin took Ballet and Tap Dance at the age of three. She took piano lessons when she was in the second grade. She attended the School of Creative and Performing Arts where she majored in Drama and minored in Costume Design. She graduated in 1982 on time with her class after a three month stay in the hospital. Robin would defy the odds despite her health challenges. She worked at Children's Hospital and Meier Winery. ?She was an emergency foster care parent to two children.
As her condition progressed to an advanced stage, she was admitted to Beechwood Home where she resided from 1993 until she went home to meet her mom and dad as she always told her sister that this is what she wanted to do.
She was very much loved by the Beechwood staff, other residents, and their families. Everyone with whom she came in contact loved her. She consistently had a positive attitude and mindset. If you ask her "How are you?" she would always respond "terrific". She loved to laugh, tease her nurses and aides, dance with them. She was a huge flirt with the men.
Shortly after moving to Beechwood, she was instrumental in having Greater Libertys Choir come and sing on Tuesdays each month. The residents and staff loved the entertainment.
Robin is survived b y her daughter Jasmine Dicks; sister and brother, Angie Dicks and Mark Dicks; five grandchildren, Rayquan Conwell, Kur'Shyrah James, Lovie Spears, Brayla Nutt, and Breanna Dicks; two nephews, Michael (Elizabeth) Davis of Jacksonville, Florida and Stephan Sparks; niece Sydney Dicks; great-niece Eliza Sparks all of Cincinnati. She leaves a host of aunts, cousins, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the Greater Liberty Baptist Church, 6209 Desmond Street, Madisonville (45227). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
Interment will follow at Kerr Cemetery, 10090 Kerr Cemetery Road, Loveland, Ohio 45140.
