Thomas Roy Butler

On Monday, June 16, 2025, Tommy Butler's struggle with pneumonia, COPD, and heart failure came to an end. He passed away at Northeast Georgia Medical Center just two weeks after his 63rd birthday.
Services will be scheduled at a later date.
Tommy was born June 2, 1962 in Gainesville, Georgia. The son of the late Gus Butler and Mildred Elise (Walls) Butler.
Tommy had a genuine knack for making everyone feel welcome. A charming conversationalist and natural born comedian, Tommy was equally at ease entertaining friends, strangers, or even stray animals. He was always eager to help anyone in need.
His grandchildren will always remember him as a dog whisperer, guitar guru, backyard garden wizard, card shark, thrift store superhero, and coin collecting fanatic. He truly touched the lives of countless people in ways large and small.
In lieu of flowers, friends and loved ones are invited to help cover Tommy's daunting funeral expenses. Any gift will be deeply appreciated and will help lighten the financial burden on his family. Funds raised beyond the funeral expenses will go to a cause dear to Tommy's heart: taking care of homeless pups and kittens. Donations will benefit the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (humanesocietyofnortheastgeorgia.org).
