1954 - 2026
May 6, 1954 - Mar 22, 2026
It is with tremendous sorrow that we share the news that Robert "Bob" Allen Cordingley passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 22, 2026, in Bucklin, MO. He was 71 years old. Born on May 6, 1954, to Allen Thomas Cordingley and Pauline Gertrude (Kurtz) Cordingley in Central Islip, Long Island, New York, Bob was the eldest of six siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Kathi Cordingley of Bucklin, Mo.; his son, Christopher Robert Cordingley (Emily) of Evanston, Il.; his daughter, Kelly Cordingley Burt (Alison) of Kansas City, Mo.; his stepson, Robert Atwell of Marceline, Mo.; his three grandchildren, Camden Cordingley, Cooper Cordingley and Nora Burt; and his four brothers, James "Jimmy" Cordingley, Frank Cordingley, William "Billy" Cordingley and Jeffrey Cordingley. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister, Nancy (Cordingley) Andritz.
Bob graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, in 1976. He later retired from Koch Industries/Georgia-Pacific as a National and Regional Distribution Sales Manager and went on to enjoy retirement. Most recently, he served as a volunteer Vice President of the Bucklin Community Association and delighted in his newest pursuit-being an aspiring comedian. Though he was the consummate professional, his greatest joy came from being a husband, father, and grandfather.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Bob experienced firsthand his rare ability to connect with anyone. Genuine and approachable, he had a gift for putting people at ease in any setting-from New York to Las Vegas to Bucklin, Mo. Whether he was reading stories and playing with the grandchildren who adored him, spending time with his beloved wife, enjoying the company of his children, or simply visiting with neighbors over his go-to espresso, Bob made every interaction meaningful and memorable.
His passing brings a sorrow too difficult to put into words. Taken far too soon, he leaves behind a space that cannot be filled and will be missed beyond measure.
Bob's celebration of life will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Bucklin Community Building: 205 E. 4th St., Bucklin, MO 64631
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bucklin Community Association and mailed to Bucklin Community Association Treasurer, David Jenkins, at PO Box 372, Bucklin, MO 64631. Please note the donation is in memory of Bob Cordingley.
