Curtis Dirette Obituary

Curtis Dirette passed away on September 9, 2025 with his loving sons holding his hands. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on September 23, 1963 to Theron and Judy Dirette. The family moved to Livingston in 1970, and Curt lived most of his life there after. He attended elementary school through high school in Livingston and graduated from Park High School in 1981. He was a dedicated and decorated wrestler, and was a state runner up in 1981. Curt was a hard worker, and never had an easy job. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to fish and hunt, or just go for a long car ride to look for wildlife, something he passed on to his two sons. His favorite thing in life was being a grandpa.

Curt is survived by his two sons, Calvin and Kyle Dirette, his grandsons Elijah and Evan, and granddaughters Charlie and Riley, his Mother and Father, brothers Theron (Star), sister Donna (Ken), and brother Blaine, and special brother Mike Stordalen, Jenea and Ginger Dixon, his best friend Fred Dobrowski, and Robert, and numerous nieces and nephews. Per Curt's wishes, there will be no funeral. The family will have an open house on September 27, at 712 West Front, at 2pm. If you would like to bring a dish and a good story the family would appreciate it.

Curt never seemed to fear anything. He has always impressed me with his bravery and he always stood up for his friends no matter what and who you thought you were. I am very proud to call him my friend and I will miss him very much... Derek G. White
