Robert Visscher Obituary

Robert "Bob" Visscher, 94, of Green Valley, Arizona, and formerly of Livingston and Bozeman, passed away Friday, November 28th.

Bob was born April 29th, 1931, in Muskegon, MI, to Bert and Irene Visscher. Shortly after graduation from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He married Joan (Jo) Foss, and they had a life of travel during Bob's 22-year military career. He served all over the world, with duties in Turkey, France, Germany, Korea and Vietnam, where he earned a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts, before retiring with the rank of major.

They moved to Bozeman in 1972. Bob lived in Livingston for 20 years, serving much of that time as the director of Counterpoint, before settling in Arizona.

He spent his retirement fly fishing legendary trout streams across Montana, Canada, Alaska and New Zealand. He loved his home on the Yellowstone River.

Bob will be greatly missed. Survivors include his daughter Gail, son Dave, (Heidi) and special friend Barb, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, wife Jo, second wife Lynette, son Mike and all six siblings. Cremation has taken place. An appreciation of his life will take place at a later date.
