Albert Locy Obituary

Albert James Locy, La- Crosse, WI. /Wilton CA 88, passed away in Wilton, Ca. on December 6th 2024
Al was born in Chicago, Ill on Sept 5, 1936, to Albert Elmer Locy and Marie (Polodna) Locy. He
married Lucille Mary Yehle on Jan 11, 1958, in LaCrosse at St James the Less Church and divorced
in 1980 she preceded him in death on April 21, 1998. Albert was also married to Lois. (2003- 2018.)
Albert moved with his mom and sister Pat to Prairie Du Chein when he was
2 and then to LaCrosse, WI. when he was 3. His first job was at age 8 as a shoe shine boy on the
corner of Main & 3rd street and his entire life he enjoyed working and being busy in some form or
another. Al attended Aquinas High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1959. He was
stationed on the USS Trathen DO-530 as an electrician. When he was honorably discharged he spent a
year working on farms around LaCrosse. He then passed the test to become a licensed electrician
and went to work for Dairyland Power in Alma Wisconsin for a few years before transferring to Ge-
noa. In 1972 he moved his family to Elk Grove California where he worked as Electrical
Supervisor at Rancho Seco Nuclear Power Plant. In 1985 he retired from the electrical field and
started his own investment firm with offices in Lodi CA. and Rancho Murrieta, CA. which he ran
successfully until his passing. Al is a past Exalted Ruler of the Lodi Elks Lodge 1900.
Albert loved spending Saturday mornings having coffee with his son Andy who lived "just over the fence." Before his
passing Albert was able to do some of the things he always wanted to do. One of his highlights was
going on the Freedom Honor Flight out of La Crosse. He also enjoyed exploring western history
whenever his son Al came out to visit. He enjoyed Thanksgiving visiting his daughter Colleen and
son Chris in Wyoming. For decades' dad loved to travel to Petersburg Alaska and meet up with his
friends and go fishing for halibut & shrimp. Albert was a lifelong golfer and runner. He ran his
last half marathon just 3 years ago. Al had a love history, especially western history.
Albert is survived by three sons and a daughter. Son Albert M. (Karen) Locy of Onalaska, Wis., Daughter, Colleen M.
(Joseph) Holtzclaw of Wheatland WY., Andrew D.(Toni) Locy of Wilton CA. and Christopher

My husband worked with Al at Rancho Seco. We had several meals with Al and a group of other Rancho Seco retirees. He was a great guy.

Grandpa Al was one of a kind! My favorite memory is when he came and surprised us for Christmas one year in California. My mom and sister and I were visiting from Wyoming. He showed up with gifts for us. This was extremely special to us because of other things that were going on. He made sure we were happy. Just one of so many great memories. Love you grandpa.
