Dan Moellenberndt Obituary

Dan Moellenberndt, of Lodi, passed away on May 15, 2022 after a brief illness. He was 80 years old.
Dan was born in Redondo Beach, CA on June 26, 1941. He moved to Missouri as a teenager, and then back to California as a young adult. He joined the Air Force in 1962, and served in Alaska. After discharge, he graduated from Chico State University with a degree in Political Science. He worked in county government for many years in California, before moving to the Midwest where he led several city administrations in Missouri and Kansas. He returned to California in 1990, settling in Lodi. He retired from the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency in 2002.
Dan joined Lodi Lodge #256, Free and Accepted Masons in 1998. He was very active in the Masonic Lodge, in Lodi as well as Woodbridge Lodges. He also supported the International Order of Rainbow for Girls youth organization, serving on the Advisory Board of both Wood-Lo and Cloud 7 Assemblies. Dan produced newsletters for all of these organizations and could often be found at events with his camera, taking photos for the next issue.
He is survived by his daughter, Christine Moellenberndt (of San Jose, CA) and brother, David Moellenberndt (of Oregon).
A memorial service will be held on June 17 at 3pm, at the Lodi Masonic Lodge located at 315 Pine Street, Lodi.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in his name be made to the California Masonic Foundation.
