Doean has been an inspiration to me and at a time when I needed an adopted mom and felt very alone she was there to fill that need. She nurtured, loved, encouraged and yes deciplined me. She gave me strength and confidence and the world is a better place because she was in it. My deepest thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones and family. Thank you for sharing her with me. I will always feel like she is with me.

My sympathy to the family of this remarkable woman. How I enjoyed knowing Dorean and working with her on the street fair. No one could whip through an agenda like she could and she always got the job done right. Lodi has lost an exceotional citizen and we have lost a true friend.

Anyone who knew Dorean knew what a special person she was. She was one of the first business contacts I had when I started working in Lodi and she went out of her way to make me feel comfortable in my new position. She was one of those people that never knew a stranger. She will be missed.

Dorean Rice is my Mother, and her death is the hardest thing in life that I will ever have to deal with. Saying goodbye is so hard.

It is so wonderful to know that she has touched so many people's lives. I know that her legacy will live on for years to come, because she will continue to live on forever in peoples hearts and minds. She is my hero and has taught me to be a better person and to love people unconditionally.

I will love you forever Mom and will never forget that you were the best mother in the world any daughter could ever have. I know you are in heaven now, rest in peace Mom. I love you Mom.

To Dorean's Family:
I share your loss. Dorean was a very special lady. Knowing her through her work (she with the credit bureau and me with the court) and through Rotary for well over 25 years, I can't think of a more honest, caring and hard working individual. She will be missed greatly by her many friends and by this community. Our prayers are with you.
