Edward Lee Haffner Sr.

1935 - 2013

Edward Lee Haffner, Sr. peacefully passed away April 20, 2013. He was surrounded by his children and family during his short illness. Ed was born in Hitchcock, OK on May 23, 1935. He graduated from Union College in Lincoln, NE, and completed his post-graduate work in Physical Therapy at Loma Linda University. He was a member of many boards including United Cerebral Palsy and Lodi Academy School Board. He retired as Supervising Therapist at San Joaquin County Public Health Services in 2005. He was known for his gentle kindness and loving spirit. He enjoyed traveling, being with friends and family, and spending time in the garden. We will miss his funny stories, gentle touch, and quick smile, but know we will see him again one glorious morning. Ed is survived by his wife, Carol; brother, Harold Haffner (Cynthia); sisters, Erma Webb (Jim) and Carol Hayes (Oliver); sons, Eddie Haffner (Cindy), Rick Haffner, and Jon Haffner (Cheree); daughters, Heidi Nieuwenhuis (Dave) and Lisa Kooren (James); and seven grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 27, at 3:00 p.m. at the Fairmont Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lodi. There is no visitation and committal is private.
