Floyd Haas Obituary

Floyd K. Haas, Sr., of Lodi, CA passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, comfortably and peacefully in the arms of his loving wife of 14 years, Joanne, and was surrounded by his beloved family and friends. He was 82 years of age, and born on January 15, 1925 in Huron, SD.
His family soon moved to a small town near Graceville, MN where he was educated and raised. In 1943 he entered the US Army during World War II.
Floyd married his first wife, Delores Haas, and raised five children with her. Then in 1952 he and his family moved to LaPuente, CA, where he worked in the construction and dry wall business. In 1975 Floyd moved to the Lodi area and started his own dry wall and construction business, F&S Construction, with his two sons, and all-together spent 55 years in the dry wall business.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 14 years, Joanne Haas; daughters, Kathryn (Ernie) Avina of Fontana, CA, Patricia Haas of Austin, TX, and Shirlene (Sergio) Rosman of Orange, CA; sons, Floyd, Jr (Rosemarie) Haas of Lodi, CA, and Michael Haas of Lodi, CA; step-sons, Gregg (Janell) Bettis of Branson, MO, and Kevin Bettis of South Lake Tahoe; daughter, Michelle (Virgil) Green of Wister, OK; 5 grandchildren, Ernie, Jr, James, Michael, Scott, and John; 5 step-grandchildren, Kaylene, Brooke, Kyle, Cierra, and Christoffer; plus 12 great-grandchildren, all who loved and idolized their special Grandpa.
Floyd is also survived by his only sister, Evelyn Young of Ontario, CA and her family.
He is preceded in death by his grandson, Keith Haas, in 2004.
Though Floyd's sons took over the business awhile back, Floyd has never considered himself "retired," always having a hand in helping out when needed. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to visit family in different states and playing Solitaire was his favorite pastime.
Floyd was deeply loved and respected by everyone and he always greeted you with a smile, and had a remarkable sense of humor. We will greatly miss our beloved Floyd – he left us with many unforgettable memories which we will always cherish.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 11, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flowers at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 & Harney Lane, Lodi, followed by the committal in the Sierra View Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 10th, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, near Beckman Rd., Lodi.
