Justin Joseph Prudhel

1985 - 2012

Justin Prudhel of San Mateo, California passed away on Saturday December 15, 2012, at the age of 27. He was unable to negotiate a 90-degree turn in Glenn County and impacted a pole and dirt embankment, suffering fatal injuries. He was joined in death by his loving dog Shadow.
Justin was born at Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame. He attended Sunnybrae Elementary School, Borel Middle School, Aragon High School, and College of San Mateo. Justin graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Administration of Justice from Cal State East Bay and went on to work for Prudhel Estates, INC. on the family vineyards. Justin enjoyed life on the farm, fishing, hunting, snow skiing, ocean diving, and being with friends and family. He was an avid Giants, 49ers, and Warriors fan, as well as an accomplished mechanic, electrician, welder, and heavy equipment operator. Having recently passed his local union 617 I.B.E.W. Electrical Construction test, he was seeking employment. Justin volunteered for the City of San Mateo Police Activities League ("PAL"). He went on over 40 deep-sea fishing PAL trips, each time teaching up to 30 kids how to love the ocean as he did. Everyone loved Justin, as he was an outstanding role model and leader.
Justin is survived by his mother and father, Cassie and Pat Prudhel; his brother and his brother's long-time girlfriend, Ehren Prudhel and Lori Deschene; his grandmother, Frances Prudhel; and his faithful dog, Lucky. He was loved by his uncles and aunts, David and Dolores Prudhel, Craig and Connie Prudhel, and Blaine DeJong; his cousins, Kristen Prudhel, Arthur Prudhel, Lewis Prudhel, Bryson DeJong, and Natalie Sauerland; and many other relatives, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Burdette and Elaine DeJong and Arthur Prudhel.
The family would like to thank all of our friends and relatives for their support and prayers. We would also like to thank the San Mateo Police Department and the San Mateo County Sherriff's Office for all they do every day for all of us. God bless you all.

Justin loved what the San Mateo Police Department's PAL Program accomplishes for the community-providing a safe environment through positive reinforcement and teaching life skills to help youth transition to successful adults. Justin would appreciate donations to the San Mateo Police Activities League, "PAL", the American Cancer Society for his relatives, both surviving and past, or the American Heart Association for his grandfather and others.
