Marc Boriack Obituary

Marc Dwight Boriack, age 52, was born the third child of Ted and Vera Boriack on April 25, 1957 in Lodi, CA and went to see Jesus in his heavenly home on the morning of March 1, 2010 after a gallant struggle with heart disease. Marc loved his Lord and knew passionately that a whole life with a whole body awaited his resurrection.
He graduated Lodi High School in 1975 where he loved photography and worked on the Flame newspaper and Yearbook. After high school he joined the US Army where he served 7 active years and 4 reserve years all over the United States and Germany. He was the general manager for a local Taco Bell franchise, along with his wife Robin he owned and operated 5 Subway Sandwich shops. He then went to work for Pilot Oil and finally Flying J Travel Plazas. He helped open the Lodi location and always loved being the manager to see to so many employees there.
He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where he served as an Elder and always enjoyed all the aspects of being an Elder - especially giving communion in church and preaching at the Arbor Convalescent Hospital. He was the church advisor to the Boy Scout Troop 291. He was also a proud member of the DAV.
He was most happy being around his large loving family and will be very much missed by - wife of 29 years Robin Boriack of Lodi, son Steven Boriack of Auburn, Alabama, daughters Tina Schiaffino and Emily Boriack of Lodi, daughter Elizabeth Boriack of NAS Lemoore, and granddaughter Isabella Schiaffino of Lodi. There was no better time than when we could all be together laughing and talking and playing games. He always loved making jokes with everyone. He loved his wife and children completely. We got to go on many trips and vacations together.
Also survived by his mother Vera Boriack, brother Rod (Victoria) Boriack, sister Chris Boriack, father and mother-in-law Ron and Mary Slate, brothers-in-law Ron Slate and Ryan (Susie) Slate. Nieces and nephews – Carlos, Jennifer and Joaquin Aloy, Jon (Brooke) Boriack, Katy and Ayden Boriack, Melanie and Andrew Slate. He is also survived by special family members Emil Brodston, Andrew Reisinger and Lori McReynolds and by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was welcomed into heaven by his father Ted Boriack and sister-in-law Renee Slate.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Lodi, CA, Rev. John Kah officiating. A private committal will be in Cherokee Memorial Park.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 4th, from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, March 5th, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, near Beckman Road, Lodi.
Memorial donations may be made in Marc's honor to The Lodi Police Foundation, Att: Gary Benincasa, for the purchase of Automatic External Defibrillators for patrol cars, or to St. Peter Lutheran Church for Automatic External Defibrillators at church and school.

So sorry to hear of Marc's untimely passing. We spent many a day fashioning elaborate forts out of Maggio's lug boxes (they didn't seem to care). Many great times.
