Mel Roush passed away January 8, 2018 due to complications of cirrhosis.  He was born in Lodi on January 25, 1951 to Willie and Mary Roush and lived his entire life in Lodi.  He leaves his son Jason, a brother, a sister and several nieces & nephews.
Mel originally worked in land and vineyard surveying and started Valley Vineyard & Orchard Supply in 1987.  He became the "Mr T-Post" of Northern California and designed the first CrossArms still in use today.  Valley Vineyard continues to thrive after 30 years, making sure his legacy will continue on in his absence.
Many thanks to all his caregivers, Tami Setterlund, Hospice of San Joaquin, Dr. Ken Mullen and the many friends who were by his side the past few months.
His "Family" at Valley Vineyard invites his many friends and customers to a Celebration of Life on Monday January 15 from 12 to 3 pm at Woodbridge Golf & Country Club.  Donations to the Liver Foundation or charity of your choice. No flowers please.

Condolences to Mel's family. I had many memorable moments with Mel in the early years, working with him at Taddei's Chevron (Church & Pine), Ferdun and Woods Land Leveling, and being a graduate of the LHS Class of '69. Life is so brief, like a vapor.
