Phyllis Dahlinger

1912 - 2008

Phyllis Dahlinger, age 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family August 8, 2008, at her home in Lodi, California. She was born on March 13, 1912, in Haig, Nebraska, to John L. Koch and Anna Rebon Koch.
She grew up in Nebraska and Idaho and met her husband, Dave Dahlinger, and was married in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on December 3, 1929. They moved to South Dakota, where they farmed until moving to Lodi in 1940.
Phyllis was a homemaker who enjoyed being surrounded by her family. For many years, she lovingly took care of her three grandchildren. Her hobbies included; cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, reading and gardening. She and Dave traveled annually back east to visit family. They also enjoyed trips to Lake Tahoe, Reno and Carson City to play the "one armed bandits."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave, of 67 years, who passed away in 1997. Also preceding her in death were her two sons, Herald Dean and David; brother, John Koch; sisters, Roberta Cadwallader, Alberta Duffy, Dorothy Mack, Pauline North, Ann Smith and Ruth Young.
She is survived by her loving daughter and caregiver, Roberta Jones of Lodi; her grandchildren, Dawn Berger (David) of Carson City, Nevada; Darcy Hust (Ron) of Lodi; and David Dahlinger of Carson City, Nevada. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; Nathen, Katelyn, Ryan, Jeffrey, Christine and David, and one great-great-grandson, Robert; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 13, at 3:00 p.m. in Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi.
