Ruth Justina Jones

1914 - 2011

Ruth Justina Jones of Lodi Ca went peacefully to be with her Lord on December 9th, 2011 at the age of 97. She died at home with her loving  family by her side just as she wished.  Ruth was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 6th, 1914 to Leo and Edith Renswick. Married for 60 years she had four children; Judith, Carol, David and Ralph. Alongside her husband Rufus, Ruth spent most of her years serving God with a strong passion for missions. They traveled throughout the world partnering with those who had a desire to share the good news of Jesus Christ and His love for all. She devoted many of her years to the teaching of women thru Bible Study and in later years was an avid prayer warrior for missionaries, friends and her children. Many considered her a patient, kind a loving woman, who always made you feel loved and accepted. She was a wonderful hostess to any who had the privilege of being in her home. Her life's goal was to serve her Lord and bring Glory to His name. Ruth's favorite verse was Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and He will make your paths straight." Her final words were "Trust in the LORD...and that's all!" She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, who looked up to her as a Godly example of what it meant to be a woman of God. Her family is comforted by knowing she is in heaven worshipping the God she spent her life serving. She is survived by her sister Esther Burgess, her brother John Renswick, her daughter Carol and (John) Alexander, her sons David and (Ginette) Jones, and Ralph and (Lynette) Jones, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church since 1996 and a memorial service will be held there following the holidays in January of 2012. 
Graveside services will be held at 2:30pm, December 20, 2011 at Cherokee Memorial Park in n Lodi.
