Diana Lynn McLaughlin

It is with great sadness that brothers Brad and Eric McLaughlin announce the passing of their mother, DIANA LYNN McLAUGHLIN, age 70, on November 24, 2025 in Williamsburg, Virginia. Diana was born Diana Lynn McCormick, the youngest of two daughters of Graham and Carrie McCormick.
Diana grew up in the mountains of West Virginia, alongside generations of family, descendants of early settlers. She was a lover of the outdoors and a self-professed tomboy, spending her childhood exploring the mountains and streams, making the natural setting her playground. Diana excelled in school and attended Marshall University before meeting 2nd Lieutenant William McLaughlin at Fort Bragg, NC. The two were married on August 11, 1974. Together, they raised two sons while moving coast to coast through seven states, during which time the family often spent holidays on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Diana was a woman of strong faith and a devoted mother whose love was unwavering and unconditional throughout every chapter of her life. Once her sons were grown, she turned her passion for interior design into a business, McCormick Interiors, and gave her time generously to organizations supporting people in need. She lived the final twenty years of her life in Williamsburg, Virginia where she was a caregiver for her late mother, Carrie, and where she built a community of loving friends and neighbors.
Diana always found joy among family and friends, in music, dancing and sunsets, and was always drawn to life's most simple treasures. She will be remembered for her faith, kindness, contagious smile, boisterous laughter and spirited sense of humor.
Diana is survived by her two sons, Brad McLaughlin (Anna) and Eric McLaughlin; her older sister, Tamara Lee (John); her cousin Mary Ann Bevins; three grandsons born to Brad and Anna, Alex, Andrew, and Patrick; and her dog, Daisy.
Diana will be laid to rest in her birth home of Logan, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made in Diana's memory to Dream Catchers (www.dreamcatchers.org). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.NelsenWilliamsburg.com.
