Rodney Fields Obituary

RODNEY V. FIELDS, 85, of Providence Forge, Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2023. He was born March 21, 1938, to the late Tonie and Josie Fay Cook Fields. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Bradley; his sister, Gail Fields Morris; four nephews, Rick Morris, Robert Lawless, Jeff Lawless and Greg Lawless; and one niece, Sharon (Morris) Laski. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane "Janie"; daughters Rebecca "Becki" (Jim) Wright, Mary (Jeff) Adams and Julie (Daniel) Wright; grandchildren Collin Adams, Marryn Adams, Janie Wright, Brooke (Steve) Andrzejewski, Brandie (Zachary) Andrzejewski and Brandon Wright; great-granddaughter Ava Andrzejewski; sister, Ardath (Robert) Lawless; nephews Tony (Donna) Lawless and Timothy (Barbara) Lawless; and nieces Robin Reed and Connie (Tom) Grosh. Rod was born in Panther, West Virginia and graduated from Logan (W.Va.) High School and Ohio University. He retired from AT&T (formerly Western Electric) in 1989. He was a loving, and loved, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Services will be private and at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity.
