ABRAHAM "ABE" PERLMAN

Abraham "Abe" Allan Perlman, long time Suffern resident, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon December 6, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital at the age of 96. Abe was born on June 10, 1914 in New York City to the late Sadie and Sam Perlman. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, Sylvia "Sallie" Perlman. Abe graduated with honors from The High School of Commerce in New York City, and was a distinguished member of the New York University Class of 1935. He went on to form his own CPA firm which thrived for over 60 years. Abe served as president and trustee at The Congregation Sons of Israel, now Montebello Jewish Center, in Suffern, New York where he and his family were members since 1947. Abe was also involved with various charitable organizations and traveled the world with his wife Sallie. Abe is survived by his loving children Emily Perlman, David and Penny Perlman, and Laura and Scott Devens. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Amy (Curt), Jason (Andrea), Sarah (Matthew), Jacob (Robyn), and Rachel. Abe also leaves behind his great-grandchildren Evan, Matthew, and Joshua.
