ALBERT SWANN Obituary

SWANN, ALBERT VERNON "BUTCH"Albert Vernon "Butch" Swann of Cocco Beach, FL died on November 23, 2004 in Dothan, AL, suddenly from a automobile accident along with his wife Shelley. Albert was born on April 5, 1943 in Nyack, NY to Mary and Albert Swann. Albert attended North Rockland High School. He was a stand out athlete in basketball and football, he graduated in 1960. He attended college in Maryland on a football scholarship. After moving to Florida he attended Florida Memorial College where he graduated with a Bachelors degree in Sociology. He was a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and a singing group "The Kodells". He was wed to Shelley Ann Dawkins on June 16, 1982. Albert leaves to cherish his memory four daughters: Lisa (Kelvin) Middlebrook of Georgia, Gina Swann of Michigan and Marissa and Alana Swann of Cocco. Four grandchildren: Tracy, Reginald, Ciara and Kiera. Brothers Dennis J., Bernard A., Bradley T., Ronald M., Andre A., Todd M. Swann, John Sanford, Louis Jordan. Sisters Donna Stephens, Yvonne Beamon, Vanessa Cannon, Gloria Sanford and Phyllis Swann. He is also survived by his aunts Lottie Crawford, Annie Brown, Marjorie and Bertha Swann and his uncle Everette Swann. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Velma Dawkins, a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, his brothers Lawrence A., William C., Theodore P. and Wayne and sister Betty Elder. Services were held for Albert on December 1, 2004 in Dothan, AL. Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
