ANNA FORESTIERI Obituary

Anna Forestieri, better known as "Annie Cakes" and Grandma Annie, age 76 of Somers, died November 3, 2007, peacefully at home. Annie was born on March 2, 1931, in Brooklyn NY, daughter of the late Jerome and Mary Lucido. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank who died in 2004 and is survived by three sons, one daughter, twelve grandchildren, two great grandsons, two brothers and many more cousins, nieces and nephews. She graduated from Central Needle Trades (now F.I.T.) and was a pattern maker in the garment industry in NYC. A long time resident of Somers, she was a bus driver for the local schools, became a film librarian at BOCES and then went into the catering business where she delighted family and friends with her baking creations. She never met a stranger, and many of these friends were recipients of her labors of love. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, Croton Falls and volunteered at St. Joseph's School where she was everyone's Grandma. The products of her ongoing kitchen activities were tangible expressions of her love. Her life's artistry was continually expressed, enjoyed by all who knew her and many who did not, by unsurpassed sewing and kitchen skills. Whether it was a phone call, a thoughtful card, patching her grandchildren's clothing or her magical baking, there seemed to be no limit to her joyous expressions of kindness. Donations in her memory can be made to Children's Miracle Network, PO Box 252, Vahalla, NY 10595 CLARK ASSOCIATES Katonah, NY 914 232 3033
