ANTHONY BAIOCCO Sr.

Anthony Baiocco, Sr., a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Friday, July 14, 2006 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Yonkers. He was 78 years old. He was born on January 18, 1928 to Pasquale and Marianne Minozzi Baiocco in Yonkers where he was raised and educated. Mr. Baiocco was employed by the Department of Public Works in Yonkers for 34 years, retiring as a Supervisor in 1999. Previously he was a Police Officer for the Yonkers Police Department for five years. During World War II, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines, and was stationed in China and Japan. Mr. Baiocco was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Yonkers. He enjoyed cameras and photography. On September 16, 1950 he married Domenica Grimaldi in Yonkers. Mrs. Baiocco survives and lives in Yonkers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Anthony Baiocco, Jr., (YPD) and his fiancee Melissa of Yonkers, and Marc Baiocco (YPD), and his wife Carol of Yonkers, and two sisters, Norma Vahn of NY, NY and Florence Lucey of Yonkers. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Marc Jr., Lauren and Alicia. He was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Ann Baiocco. Visitation will be at Whalen & Ball F.H., on Monday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary's Church on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Josephs's Hospital, 127 South Broadway, Yonkers, NY 10701.
