ANTHONY J. TISO

Anthony J. Tiso 87, of Valhalla, N.Y. and formerly of Mt.Vernon, N.Y. died on Feb.10,2010 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y. He was born on August 12,1922 to the late Louis and Carmela (nee Bruno) Tiso in Clearfield, Pa. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII in the Military Intelligence Service. He worked for the Mt.Vernon Police Dept. in the Dept. of Public Safety in the Parking Meter Shop from 1966 - 1989 and was the City of Mt. Vernon Auto Mechanic from 1964-1965. He loved music, gardening, and maintaining the family cars. Anthony is survived by his devoted wife Marie (nee Chiappinelli) Tiso of Valhalla, N.Y. His loving children; Louis A. Tiso and his wife Denise of Novi, Michigan, Jeanne McSherry of Chappaqua, N.Y. and Barbara Zanzano and her husband Nicholas of Hawthorne, N.Y. Also survived by two sisters, five grandchildren and one great grandson. Predeceased by his son in law Donald McSherry, one sister and four brothers. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Sunday and Monday 3-7 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Tuesday 10 AM. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
