Gillman, Arthur

Gillman, Arthur, E., MD, 86. Born on June 6, 1927 in New York City, died July 26, 2013. Beloved husband of Harriet Oster, father of Ted Gillman (Joan) and of Sarah Gillman (David Marchiony). Stepfather of Abby O'Connell and Lisa O'Connell Mazzei. Grandfather of Benjamin, Gabriel, Allison and Zachary. Dr. Gillman was a child psychiatrist in New York area schools, hospitals and in private practice. He graduated from the University of Vermont in 1947 and New York Medical College in 1950. In 1970, Dr. Gillman received a commendation from the White House Conference on Children. Dr. Gillman was an avid skier, sailor, and traveler who loved the mountains and his homes in Larchmont NY, Stowe VT, and East Hampton NY. Funeral at Larchmont Temple, Sunday July 28th at 11:30 am. Donations in his memory to the Stowe Land Trust.

Dr. Gillman was a wonderful child psychiatrist and teacher. He was loved by the children, adolescents and families that he served. All of us at the Child Study Center mourn his loss. He is now with the angels.
