BIAGIO "BENNY" SETTEMBRE

Biagio "Benny" Settembre of Peekskill died January 24, 2000; he was 45. His first business was the Hen Hud Pizzeria, later adding Settembre's #I Restaurant, he owned and operated Shadow Brook Restaurant, then worked at Luigi's in Yonkers; then in the early 1980's joined his family in the Family Business, Settembre's Restaurant, Croton-on-Hudson, where he was the chef. Mr. Settembre was born April 5, 1954, in Italy to Gaetano and Elveria Vivenzio Settembre. He graduated from Peekskill High School in 1972. In January of 1975, he married Audrey Powers at Assumption Church in Peekskill, which later ended in divorce. He lived in Peekskill since he was 4 years old. He was a parishioner at Assumption Church, loved cooking and loved people. He was an avid baseball fan. He is survived by his daughter, Tara Settembre, of Byron, CT, his father, Gaetano Settembre, of Peekskill, brothers Casper Settembre of Peekskill, Sammy Settembre of Cos Cob, CT, Tony Settembre of Peekskill, sisters, Matilda Zeoli of Peekskill, Phyllis Chadeayne of Wappingers Falls, and Lena Morosco of West Palm Beach, FL. Family members who died earlier include his daughter Serena (3 years old in 1981), his mother Elveria Settembre on February 14, 1994. Calling hours are Wednesday 7-9pm and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home. The funeral is Friday 10am at Assumption Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
