BRIDGET COLLERAN

Bridget Colleran of Congers, died on February 2, 2003. She was 95. Bridget was born March 1, 1907 in County Mayo, Ireland to Anthony and Margaret O'Malley. In 1936 she married Thomas Colleran. She resided in the Bronx prior to moving to Rockland County. Bridget was an avid Mets fan and enjoyed listening to Irish music. She was a very devoted and loving mother, grandmother "MAMA" and great grandmother. She took great pride in spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She will live forever in our hearts. Bridget is survived by her daughter Eileen Hamilton of Thiells, her grandchildren, Michael Lawlor, James Shanahan, Christine Davies and Brian Shanahan, and great grandchildren, Ashlee, Shannon, James, Meghan, Bobby, Casey, Ryan and Hailee. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas, in 1975 and her daughter Rita Lawlor in 1970. The family will receive friends on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 am at St. Paul's RC Church in Congers with burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
