Carmela Di Capua Obituary
Carmela Di Capua, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on September 9, 2016. She was 78.
Carmela was born on January 7, 1938 in Bonefro, Italy to the late Giovanni and Santa (Giannotti) Colombo.
She worked for many years as a Seamstress for Imp Originals in New Rochelle and was a member of Amalgamated #169 and the ILGWU. She was predeceased by her husband Federico whom she married in 1955. He died on July 10, 1989.
She is survived by her 2 sons John (Christine) Di Capua and Antonio (Marcia) Di Capua; her 7 grandchildren: Claudia, Daniela, Luca, John, Julia, Christopher and Jennifer; her brother Giuseppe and her sisters Antonietta, Michelina, and Santa.
Visiting will be Saturday and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle, A funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday 10:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.

Dear Carmela,
You were a wonderful friend to Leonor,
My Wife and daughters had a nice trip with you and enjoyed your food at your home.
While i was not lucky to spend time with you,
i will always remember your smile, warmth and you often offering my daughter commuting to College
of New Rochelle to stop over if she was hungry,
or needed to stay, if she was to tired to drive.
