CARMELLA DIMAURO Obituary

Carmella DiMauro, 89, of Hawthorne, NY, died on August 23, 2007 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. She was born on February 27, 1918 to Santo and Mary (Selino) Nicita in Valhalla, NY. Carmella and her husband, Salvatore, were the founders and owner-operators of Aunt Millies Sauces in Hawthorne, NY from 1946-1972. She loved various sports, sewing, arts and crafts, cooking and nature. Carmella was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore DiMauro in 2006, and two sisters, Agnes Gagliano and Rose Fury. She is survived by one daughter, Delores DiMauro of Hawthorne, NY; three grandchildren, Michael, Vincent, and Milissa Della Rossa; one sister, Josephine Palmieri of West Harrison, NY, and one brother, Santo Nicita of LaGrangeville, NY. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY on Monday, 10 AM. Entombment to follow.
