Christopher Confrey

Stony Point - Christopher Confrey passed peacefully on January 26, 2019 at the age of 82 with his devoted wife, Ann, and his children by his side. Chris married the love of his life, Ann. on May 20, 1961 and they enjoyed 57 wonderful years together. He was a devoted and caring father to their four children, Chris (Tricia) of Tomkins Cove, N.Y., William of Tomkins Cove, N.Y., Kathleen Freeman (Danny) of Stony Point, N.Y. and Peggy Sciabica (Jack) of Ramsey, N.J.

Chris and his family made many happy memories spending summers in East Durham, N.Y. and at the Jersey Shore. Chris was a loving and proud Pop Pop to 9 grandchildren, Lauren, Christopher, Danny (Meghan), Maggie, Michael, Grace, Maggie, Joey and Katie. Chris was born in New York City on June 3, 1936 to Thomas and Gertrude Confrey. He was predeceased by his three older brothers, William, Thomas and Donald.

Chris proudly served his country in the US Army stationed in Korea. He began his career in the NYPD retiring from law enforcement as a Detective. He enjoyed a second career as an operating engineer in IUOE Local 14-14B. He was a member of the Rockland County Shields and the DEA. He was also a proud member of the Haverstraw Elks BPOE 877 where he loved spending time with his friends in "Cadillac Corner." Chris and Ann spent winters at their home on Marco Island, Fl. Marco Island was his happy place where he made many dear friends. All who had the pleasure of knowing him loved him. He lived each day faith filled and with integrity. He truly believed that the love of family was life's greatest blessing.

The family will receive friends at T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, N.Y. on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 2pm-4pm & 7pm-9pm. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11am at Immaculate Conception Church, 26 John Street, Stony Point, N.Y. with interment to follow at Fred W. Loescher Veterans Cemetery, Brick Church Rd. New Hempstead, N.Y.
