DIANA WEBSTER Obituary

Diana M. Webster, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, passed away Saturday, June 28th in the Sound Shore Medical Center. She was 96 years old. Mrs. Webster was the daughter of Rocco and Angelina V. Samela Grosso. She was born in New Rochelle on May 9, 1907, and attended the New Rochelle Public Schools and received her Nursing degree from the Lenox Hill Hospital School of Nursing in NYC. In November of 1942, she married her late husband, Royal, in New Rochelle. Mrs. Webster practiced Nursing in the Sound Shore Medical Center until she retired. After retiring, she realized retirement was not for her, and went back into Nursing, working for the United Hebrew Geriatric Center, retiring in 1974. Diana was a member of the Catholic Nurses Guild and Graduate Nurses Association. She lived for her family and was an avid reader. Mrs. Webster is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Frank Capasso of New Rochelle; her granddaughters and husbands: Ann Marie and Christopher Cole of Colorado, Eleanor and Victor Vivaudou of Yonkers and Elizabeth and Joseph Merriam of Mohegan Lake; her great-grandson, Lawrence Merriam; her brother, Nicholas J. Grosso of New Rochelle and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters and five brothers. Contributions in Mrs. Webster's memory may be made to the Holy Name of Jesus Church in New Rochelle or to a charity of one's choice. Family will receive visitors Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
