DONALD STARKEY Obituary

Donald G. Starkey, retired Lieutenant and Past Commander of the Arson Investigator's Team for the City of Yonkers, died on Tuesday, August 24, 1999 at age 70. Born on August 14, 1929 to William and Grace (nee Kerrigan) Starkey in Yonkers where he was raised and graduated from Saunders High School. Lt. Starkey worked for over 35 years in the Yonkers Fire Department, retiring in 1993, still being a member of the Retired Fire Officers Association. On June 25, 1955 he married Marilyn Fealy in St. Mary's Church; she survives. Mr. Starkey was recently a parishioner of Christ the King Church and was Past-President of the Pacoy Club where he coached for over 20 yeras. He became an avid fishermand and Coin Collector. Besides his wife, Marilyn of Yonkers, he is survived by his two sons Donald F. of New Windsor and Vincent W. of Yorktown Heights and his two daughters, Karen Minichino of Patterson and Grace Bruno of Carmel. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren. Cousin of Joyce Ciamarra. Brother of Howard Starkey of Stamford, CT. He was predeceased by Janice Sargent, Robert Starkey and John (Billy) Starkey. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7-9pm and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial in Christ the King Church on Friday, August 27th at 10am.
